Orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, Dr. Jervis Yau graduated cum laude from UC San Diego with a degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience. He then attended New York Medical College where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Yau completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, followed by additional fellowship training in sports medicine and arthroscopy at Sports Orthopedic and Rehabilitation (SOAR) in Redwood City.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Yau has team coverage experience at the collegiate and professional levels, including the San Francisco Giants. He serves as the Team Physician for UC Santa Barbara, Westmont College, Santa Barbara High School, Bishop Garcia Diego High School and Cate School.
On the academic front, Dr. Jervis Yau is on the Membership Committee of Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). He is also a proud member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
As a team physician for a number of athletic groups, Dr. Yau is highly experienced at treating athletes and active individuals at all levels. He brings years of experience, evidence from the latest medical research and the most innovative treatments to each patient, creating a prompt and optimal recovery.
